I am sure than none of us even in our worst nightmares could ever envisage a pandemic like this one. But it seems logical that the ‘experts’ should have anticipated and prepared for such an event. All three readings today contain warnings and offer the opportunity to heed them. Nineveh did just that and God forgave and lifted His threat, and by doing so reveals Himself to be a patient, merciful and loving father who warns his children first before inflicting punishment and thereby gives them the chance to make changes and be saved. Once again listening and responding.

Confirmation
At present we are unsure when this service will take place, judging by the way things stand at present we will almost certainly be looking at a date in late spring unless the bishop decides to break with his custom and confirm during Lent (which I understand he did during Advent)
Ordination
We hope next week to be able to announce a proposed date for Fr Glen’s ordination to the sacred priesthood and for his First Mass. This too is subject to Covid restrictions and an unpredictable situation, not to mention the ongoing discernment process. However as this will be a date in late June or early July we hope things should be more settled.
Curious Children
We are thinking of beginning a weekly zoom call for some of our children to explore the faith and exercise their curiosity, initially we would suggest an age range of 8-11 and would ask that a parent be present but off camera. It is hoped that this may work a bit like Sunday School but will be focused on the children’s questions and areas of interest as well. If parents who think this might be valuable can get in touch with Fr Andrew to suggest suitable times and dates he would be most grateful.
