I hope that someone will explain our second reading today as I find Paul’s argument complex and far reaching. He is, it seems, putting forward a whole new theory of reality, knowledge and standards. He knows that what he is describing is difficult. Indeed, he seems himself to be in a period of adjustment?
There is a lovely verse that goes like this: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than a light and safer than the known way”
Which is a way perhaps, not unlike Paul’s instruction to “Walk by faith not by sight” Would you agree?
