FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
View from a Pew
So many of our images of Jesus are as ‘The Good Shepherd’. In John’s Gospel Jesus compares his care and love for the world as like that of a good shepherd who, by his devotion and constancy to his flock become familiar to them. They recognise his voice and put all their trust in him, knowing that he would probably give his life to save them. Only by daily communication with Jesus can we hope, expect to have this same relationship, this intimacy, this knowledge of each other, this recognition. And Jesus says, not only does he have responsibility for those already in his fold bur also for the rest, for those outside, the hesitant, the strays. And so as Jesus’ eyes and ears and hands and feet on earth now, and from the comfort of our place inside the fold, perhaps we should always be aware and be responsible for, of the seekers and searchers, and strays that we come across.

Confirmation
The Bishop of Ebbsfleet will be joining us at S. Saviour’s on Friday 30th April to confirm our candidates at 7pm. Please do continue to pray for them, and if you are able, join us for the celebration.
Ordination
Fr Glen will be ordained to the sacred priesthood (DV) on Saturday 26th June at 12noon. That service will take place at S. Werburgh’s. He will offer a Votive Mass in honour of S. Joseph on Sunday 27th June at 7pm, this will be the first occasion on which he will celebrate as principal celebrant and therefore it will be the main Eucharistic celebration of the day and will take place at Holy Trinity. There will be a brief said mass at 9am at S. Saviour’s which will be the mass of the day. You are welcome at both, however if you are only going to come to one mass please try and make sure that it is the evening one as a first mass is a hugely important part of the life of any priest. It is also hoped by that point the restrictions on social distancing will have been lifted and so proper celebrations may be had and lifts given if necessary.
The following Sunday, the 4th July Fr Glen will offer his first parish mass, this will be at S. Saviour’s at 11.30am and will be the only mass of the day.
