Welcome Garretts!

Welcome Garretts!

Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints!

It has been announced today that Fr Philip Garrett, lately curate of S. Michael’s Cross Heath, and S. Paul’s Newcastle-under-Lyme, is to begin a placement here in the North Potteries Team Ministry from Advent Sunday.

In more ways that one this has been the answer to many people’s different prayers and we offer Fr Philip, Jo, Jessica and Alexander a warm welcome to the Team.  Over the coming weeks you will all be able to meet with Fr Philip and to offer him your own personal greetings, and we look forward to receiving his ministry in word and sacrament.  Initially he and Fr Andrew will perform as a double act whilst Fr Philip finds his feet but in due course a new pattern of ministry will once again emerge allowing greater pastoral opportunities for them both on Sundays.

For now though, welcome again, Garretts all!

A little bit more on Fr Philip:

Fr Philip was born and bred in the Black Country and had lived there all his life before moving up to North Staffs to serve his curacy, he was ordained deacon in 2022 and priest in 2023. He trained at the Queens Foundation in Birmingham. Fr Philip is married to Joanne and has two children, Jessica and Alexander.

He is a big rugby fan and enjoys watching the sport either live or on TV as time allows. Fr Philip is a priest of the Society and a member of Forward in Faith, CBS and the Prayer Book Society. He feels a deep call to serve the Church and all God’s people in an “estates” ministry and greatly enjoys helping and walking with people as they explore faith and their vocation in God’s Kingdom.
