The Saturday before Holy Week in any church is usually a busy day. Clergy and laity are running around as they finalise plans and scrabble with last minute items and changes for the most important event in the Christian calendar: Easter.
Of no surprise then, cleaning is one of the items that is top of the agenda for any church before the festivities begin. As you might well be aware, NPTM (North Potteries Team Ministry) consists of three churches: S. Werburgh on High Lane, S. Saviour in Smallthorne, and Holy Trinity on Hamil Road. Three active and busy churches that each needed cleaning. Sweeping, dusting, washing, vacuuming, and polishing we can manage. But carpets are another matter.
When Andy Huey of Attentive Cleaning Services shared a post on the Diocese of Lichfield Facebook page about his services, we were quick to take him up on his offer: Andy was confident he could clean the carpets in each of the churches in one day. He was not wrong – here are some photographs of his handy work:

Not only did Andy clean all the carpets, but he also managed to remove footprints we could not shift, cleaned away candle wax drips, and made sure that not only did all the carpets look new but that they also smelled fresh and clean in time for Holy Week.
Not a bad days’ work when you consider the amount of foot traffic in churches; very special thanks to Andy at Attentive for all his hard work and professional results!
