When in Luke’s gospel Jesus is asked to arbitrate over a piece of property, you cannot miss the impatience in his voice when he replies. I am not a great hoarder or collector, in my book ‘Less is More’ but even so I do find myself with things I never use or need, the cost of which, in hindsight, could have been put to a better use. So, it is good to be reminded, as we are today in all three readings, of the choices we have sometimes, and consider which are more important, riches on earth, or riches in heaven.
