Jesus it seems had purposely positioned himself to watch the rich and powerful parade their wealth, many putting into the offering box more than the law required to demonstrate their status. The poor widow on the other hand was making a great sacrifice in her donation, which was perhaps the difference between eating and not eating that day. She loved God enough to give her last penny, and, by giving everything she had, demonstrated her great Faith and the trust that God would provide for her. Which brings us very nicely full circle with the first reading from Kings does it not?

Covid-19 Precautions
Given the growing number of cases we are strongly encouraging the wearing of face coverings at services, especially whilst moving around the buildings.
Holy Trinity Dedication Festival
Friday 19th November at 7.30pm
For the first time since the pandemic began we shall be able to celebrate this great day, both properly and as a whole Team. Please make every effort to join the celebration, invite friends and neighbours. There will be a bring and share time of fellowship afterwards – sign up with what food you might be able to contribute – there will as usual also be plenty of beers and wines to wash it all down.
PCC Meeting
There will be a meeting for the PCC (for the whole Team) on Friday 12th November at 7pm at Smallthorne Vicarage.
Month of the Holy Souls Rosary and Masses
November is the month dedicated to prayer for the Holy Souls, Fr Andrew invites you to join with him in offering an additional rosary each day meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries with particular intention for the Holy Souls. Additionally if you would like masses of requiem celebrated for particular loved ones this month please let Fr Andrew and Fr Glen know.

Confession
Preparation for receiving Holy Communion at Mass is one of the most important things we can do, to worthily receive Christ in the Sacrament should be of the highest priority. Exactly how you will prepare yourself is a matter for your own conscience; however, you are encouraged not to take the Sacrament for granted, some will recall how in former times the priest celebrating the Holy Communion service from the Book of Common Prayer would give the congregation forewarning of when he intended to next celebrate the Sacrament so that they could adequately prepare themselves. In more recent times it has been noticed that the line for Communion gets longer whilst the line for Confession gets shorter. Don’t forget that the confessional is always here for you, not as a courtroom and place of judgment but as a hospital and well-spring of Divine Grace. If you would like to make an appointment to make a confession or to simply have a conversation to help prepare you for Communion please do speak to Fr Andrew, otherwise he is available to hear confessions on:

- Fridays at 5.30pm (Holy Trinity)
